That also means I’m a few weeks away from presenting, with a little help from some friends, my annual “Top Albums of 2012” wrap. Keep an eye out for that one which will hopefully be ready to drop on Boxing Day!
In the meantime, this week’s selection of tracks feature an ARIA winner along with a handful of local Aussie acts, and a Canadian who is making waves all around the globe to the acclaim of the likes of “Pitchfork” & “Rolling Stone”.
1. “Brother” – Matt Corby
It would be remiss of me not to feature this great track, which was just last week named the ARIA “Australian Song of the Year”.
2. “Arcadia” – Fairchild Republic
GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA
I saw these talented lads from the Goldie support “Battleships” last week. Great track and an entertaining clip. Check it out!
3. “Wicked Games” – The Week
This song has been in and out of my life for the past little while, just begging to be posted. Clearly I caved.
4. “She’s My Baby” – Kingswood
I LOVE posting a good rock track when the opportunity arises. Thank you Kingswood, your “Kings of Leon-esque” tune fits the bill nicely.
5. “The Woods” – Husky
Another track from Husky’s 2012 release “Forever So”. These guys are sublime live if you ever get the chance to see them.
