#Musicmonday – #039

Aswag of great tracks to get through today kicking off with a pair of tracks out of Ontario, Canada (gotta promote music coming out of my “home-away-from-home” too, you know!)

Following that, we have a favourite of mine from an Aussie rock band on a sold out national tour right now, and we then skip across to the US of A for a couple of tracks that’ll hopefully have some of you out of your seats and dancing like nobody’s watching!

1. “Of Space And Time” – City & Colour

Dallas Green a.k.a. “City & Colour” is, in my humble opinion, one of the most talented male artists of our time, so any new release like this one is BOUND to make #MusicMonday! Listen. Absorb. Enjoy.

2. “Needle” – Born Ruffians

Continuing the great stuff out of Canada this week, here’s a fun track from Ontario natives, “Born Ruffians”. Like a number of “Fun.” tracks in 2012, I have a sneaking suspicion this one will end up on a LOT of end of year playlists, and for good reason!

3. “The Lake” – Birds of Tokyo

WA’s “Birds of Tokyo” made a triumphant 2-night return to Brisbane this week, which is enough of an excuse for me to feature this beautiful track from the lads’ 2012 EP “This Fire”.

Not available on SoundCloud. Boo!

4. “Hard On Me” – Robby Hunter Band

Following a successful stint at this year’s SXSW festival, the “Robby Hunter Band” bring us this indie-funk special. Crank it. Dance. Repeat.

5. “Suit & Commercial” – Justin Timberlake x Daft Punk (The Hood Internet)

When JT released the first single from his latest album “The 20/20 Experience”, I was pretty quick and vocal in rubbishing it. But then “The Hood Internet” come along and add a little “Daft Punk” magic, and voila… instant improvement!
