#Musicmonday – #040

I‘M pretty stoked with this week’s lineup featuring new tracks from some old favourites like “The Cat Empire”, “Vampire Weekend” and the ageless “Depeche Mode”.

If you’re looking for a little light reading, I recently published a couple of blog entries after checking out “Birds of Tokyo” and “Mutemath” over consecutive nights. Up this week: Newton Faulkner!

Otherwise, make yourself a coffee, turn up the volume and enjoy some new tunes for the next 30 minutes or so.

1. “Brighter Than Gold” – The Cat Empire

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

The much loved Aussie indie jazz/rock/reggae are back with a new album due in May which will feature this fantastic first offering. Take the time to watch the stunning video clip too!

2. “So Good To Me” – Chris Malinchak

NEW YORK, USA

If there’s been a better “every-morning-chilled-out-getting-ready-to-tackle-the-day” single released so far this year, I’ve not heard it yet! New York producer Chris Malinchak nailed this one – sooo good!

3. “Woman” – Bom Bom

LOS ANGELES, USA

Not sure what I can tell you about the LA duo “Bom Bom” as I know NOTHING about them… only that this fun track, with lyrics from Sophie Stern, just gets more addictive with each play!

4. “Diane Young” – Vampire Weekend

NEW YORK, USA

Something different from these New York rockers – a glimpse, perhaps, of what’s to come on their 3rd studio album, “Modern Vampires of the City”, due to launch in May.

Not available on SoundCloud. Boo!

5. “Welcome to my World” – Depeche Mode

ESSEX, UK

When one of my everlasting favourites, England’s “Depeche Mode” launch a new album, you can bet I’m going to look for something to share. I didn’t have to look too far. Here’s the opening track from their new album “Delta Machine”.

Not available on SoundCloud. Boo!
