#Musicmonday – #046

Aslightly delayed #MusicMonday this week, but that’s what happens when “life” gets in the way.

LOT’S of Aussie music to introduce you “northerners” to this week… and one talented young Brit. Let’s begin…

1. “Leeward Side” – Josh Pyke

Josh Pyke, an iconic member of the Aussie music community is treating us all to his new album, “The Beginning and the End of Everything” in a couple of months. Here’s the first awesome taste of what’s to come!

Not available on SoundCloud. Boo!

2. “Long Way To Go” – Andrew Stockdale

While the once mighty “Wolfmother” are still kicking around Australia and New Zealand in their current incarnation, front man Andrew Stockdale is currently touring his solo EP which features this great track.

3. “Live A Little” – Florrie

This British beauty has burst onto the UK pop scene over the past 12 months. I’m not all that surprised given her multi-instrument playing talent (yes, she really IS playing those instruments… including the kit). HOT!

4. “I Need Answers” – Asta

I promised a little indie folk this week, and that’s exactly what you get in this track from the UK’s “Fossil Collective”. For more great songs, check out their new album, released last month, called “Tell Where I Lie”.

5. “Sweet Nothing” – Something For Kate

Last Friday morning, Melbourne rockers and personal favourites of mine “Something For Kate”, entered the TripleJ studios taking their turn at the famed “Like A Version” morning show. The cover they chose to attempt was Calvin Harris’ (feat. Florence Welch) “Sweet Nothing”. Paul Dempsey NAILS the vocals.

Love, love, LOVE IT!
