#Musicmonday – #048

WELCOME to the first #MusicMonday for June. Yes, June. Can you believe we’re almost half the way through 2013 already? Madness!

Lots of great releases due out in the next few weeks with “City and Colour”, “Empire of the Sun”, “Kanye” and former “Powderfinger” frontman, “Bernard Fanning”, due to release highly anticipated albums. No doubt, a number of tracks from those discs will appear in these very emails in the future.

Today though, let’s journey around the world from the UK, to Canada, the USA, Scotland and finishing off with some Swedish pop!

1. “Tessellate” – Ellie Goulding

As if I didn’t love Ellie Goulding enough already, she’s gone and recorded a wicked, slow jam, bedroom version of Alt J’s popular hit “Tessellate”. And what do you know? It’s gooood!

2. “Harder Than Stone” – City & Colour

You know what else is REAL good, and not surprising at that? City & Colour’s new album “The Hurry & The Harm” which launches this week. Here’s yet another taste.

Not available on SoundCloud. Boo!

3. “Make It To Me” – Manchester Orchestra (ft. Grouplove)

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new from Manchester Orchestra. We can thank the annual “Record Store Day” for this collaboration with California’s “Grouplove”.

4. “Gun” – Chvrches

The pint-sized Glaswegian, Lauren Mayberry, and her band “Chvrches” bring their unique, synthesised sound to “Gun” their second release in 2013 following the earlier success of “Recover”.

5. “Habits” – Tove Lo

I can thank New York’s “MS MR” for this sweet track after I found it on their recently published “MS MR Track Addict Vol. III”. Swedish pop via Tove Lo… FTW!
