2. “Steal the Light” – The Cat Empire
Melbourne’s “The Cat Empire” are the REAL DEAL and one only has to bare witness to one of their amazing live shows to know what I mean. “Steal The Light” is a treat for the ears!
3. “What You Came Here For” – Tigertown
It seems like every week I’m thanking Triple J for helping bring a talented young Aussie band to my attention. And so it is again this week. Thank you Triple J, for introducing me to “Tigertown”.
4. “On & On” – Illy
Eep! What’s happening to me?!?… Looks like I’m caving in and posting another hip hop track this week, thanks to a killer melodic hook on this track from Aussie rapper “Illy”.
5. “Sea of Dreams” – Baby Alpaca
In what could possibly be my find of the week, “Baby Alpaca’s” Bowie-esque lead man Chris Kittrell delivers this spectacular stripped back, blissful number called “Sea of Dreams”. This is a dreamy Summer’s afternoon tune if ever there was one. The only thing lacking? The sounds of the ocean gently lapping the shore…
