#Musicmonday – #054

FRESH off the plane from a fantastic week down in the wilds of Tasmania, here’s a fresh selection of #MusicMonday tracks that have passed across my ears over the past couple of weeks.

Included are tracks from new faces out of the UK, US, Australia, Iceland and a new track from an old favourite…

1. “When We Were On Fire” – James Bay

HITCHIN, UK

Move over Jake Bugg, it seems you’re not the only talented male singer songwriter that’s kicking around the UK in 2013. Check out this smooth number from James Bay.

2. “Wild Child” – Baby Alpaca

BROOKLYN, USA

Speaking of smooth, I’ve been loving the sounds of Baby Alpaca THAT much after debuting them on #MusicMonday last time, I had to bring them back this week.

3. “Vapour” – Vancouver Sleep Clinic

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

Brisbane local Tim Bettinson, aka Vancouver Sleep Clinic, delivers this haunting, stunning debut single in the falsetto tradition of Bon Iver. No brainer.

4. “King & Cross” – Ásgeir

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND

Acclaimed 20 yr-old Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir is reponsible for this week’s most catchy chorus. Take a listen and see what I mean.

5. “Elevate” – St Lucia

NEW YORK, USA

#MusicMonday favourites St Lucia, are back with a new track and a launch date for their new album “When the Night” due out on October 8. Sweet.
