#Musicmonday - #057 → London Grammar London Grammar

#Musicmonday – #057

THERE’S always a little extra pressure to get #MusicMonday EXTRA right after a week off as I, technically, have had much longer to scour the interwebs for the best of the new fresh stuff rolling out.

Before we get to the tunes, however, a special mention must go this week to those crazy talented Walk Off The Earth kids who have released another brilliant, quirky cover in the form of young Kiwi Lorde’s, “Royals”. Just like in their breakout cover performance of Goyte’s “Somebody That I Used To Know”, they’re back to sharing instruments & creating creative beats. Awesome – check it out here.

1. “Wicked Game” – London Grammar

No brainer. One of my favourite songs, Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Games”, beautifully performed as only London Grammar’s Hannah Reid can.

2. “Dangerous” – Big Data

WARNING: Killer, heavy bass lines and a seriously brain infecting experience about to be had. Well done Big Data, well done.

3. “Manic Baby” – The Preatures

With the recent release of their new EP “Is This How You Feel?” & the likes of Pitchfork giving them wraps internationally, The Preatures are on fire right now.

4. “Untied” – When We Were Small

With the award for Triple J’s Unearthed High winner handed out for another year late last week, this talented bunch of high schoolers missed out on the big prize, but won plenty of fans throughout the final voting process.

5. “Changing of the Seasons” – Two Door Cinema Club

Ok, so I’m definitely a little late to the party on this one with Alex Clare releasing this single late last year, but he released a new tour snap shot clip for the single today and… well… I just love the guy’s music, so it’s in the mix this week!
