#Musicmonday - #063 → Half Moon Run Half Moon Run

#Musicmonday – #063

SORRY I’m a tad late this week… a sweet weekend of camping up in country Queensland and a quick stay in beautiful Noosa for Kirsten’s birthday kept me offline.

Keep an eye out for a quick roundup of our time away here on the blog later in the week.

To the music…

1. “She Wants To Know” – Half Moon Run

MONTREAL, CANADA

Shooting to notice of many with their killer first single “Full Circle” back in 2012, former BC lads Half Moon Run recently released their debut album “Dark Eyes” from which this single is taken.

The band will be Down Under for a your in early January. You can bet I’ll be there when they drop into Brisbane’s Old Museum on January 3rd – cant wait!

2. “Voice Drifting” – The Holidays

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Each and every week there’s a song that pops up during my weekly Triple J listening that tends to linger in my mind until #MusicMonday next rolls around. This week it’s been the track “Voice Drifting”, by Sydneysiders The Holidays.

3. “Come A Little Closer” – Cage The Elephant

BOWLING GREEN, USA

Time for a little alternative rock with this track from Kentucky lads Cage The Elephant. Listen for hints of Beck, Foster the People and The Kooks throughout this 3:50 minute gem.

4. “Tourist” – RAC

PORTLAND, USA

This isn’t the first you’ve heard from RAC (aka André Allen Anjos) after I posted his hit, and one of my favourite singles of 2013 so far, “Let Go”, earlier in the year.

For “Tourist”, RAC enlists the vocals of Tokyo Police Club’s David Monks.

5. “Say Something” – A Great Big World

NEW YORK, USA

Slowing things down for the last track this week with this emotional ballad from New Yorkers, A Great Big World, which gained a huge amount of exposure when it was used as the backing track for a popular dance performance on the recently completed 2013 US series of “So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD)”.
