Here in Brisbane we’re used to cruising the ‘burbs for the reward of spectacular Xmas lighting displays, the result of hours of hard work by individual couples and families preparing their front yards with thousands of tiny, colourful, LED light bulbs.
This year, Brisbane City Council are doing their bit to draw crowds to the centre of the city as they light up the night sky in King George Square with the “City Hall Light Spectacular”.
Enlisting the exceptional creative talents of large format projection specialists, The Electric Canvas and the newly renovated Brisbane City Hall as a giant canvas, children and parents alike have been captivated by the magnificent “Nutcracker” 3D animated show that transforms City Hall into a colourful toy factory filled with activity and movement.
The show plays every 15 minutes from 7:30pm to midnight every night up until, and including, Xmas eve.
