#Musicmonday - #075 → The Preatures The Preatures

#Musicmonday – #075

YOU know, there’s the odd week here and there when scraping together 5 quality tracks each week for this project can be a little difficult, and then there are other weeks when it feels like the goodness literally drops in my lap.

This week, is without a doubt one of the latter. Wowsers, I’ve had a grin from ear to ear since Wednesday!

I’m talking an awesome new track from 2013 breakout Aussie group The Preatures, Scotsman Paolo Nutini will have you out of your seat and dancing with a funky new track, and to top it all off, Broken Bells have continued to leak out new tunes in the lead up to their much anticipated (for me anyway) album launch next week!

Weeeeeeeeeeeee! So good!

1. “Better Than It Could Be” – The Preatures

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Hot off the heels of landing their 2013 smash “Is This How You Feel?” inside the Triple J Hottest 100 top ten, at #9 to be exact, The Preatures have blessed us all with another taste of their brand of soulful rock with “Better Than It Could Be”.

Love that riff – YES!

2. “Scream (Funk My Life Up)” – Paolo Nutini

PAISLEY, SCOTLAND

If you’re not already “outta ya seat and dancing on ya feet”, then I guarantee you this funky wee ditty from Scottish legend Paolo Nutini will get you there.

Every time this exceptional voice disappears for a while, he always seems to pop up again with something that instantly reminds me why he’s one of my all-time faves! DEFINITELY the most played tune this week for me.

Eat. Sleep. Nutini on repeat.

3. “It’s About Time” – Young The Giant

IRVINE, USA

What’s that? You want more rock from #MusicMonday this year? I hear ya! Check out this great track from Young The Giant’s sophomore album “Mind Over Matter” released a couple of weeks ago.

4. “Hold On We’re Going Home (Drake Cover)” – Vancouver Sleep Clinic & GXNXVS

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

Brisbane’s Vancouver Sleep Clinic has teamed up with GXNXVS to give Drake’s “Hold On We’re Going Home” the “electronic Justin Vernon” treatment.

Always happy to give good, home grown, local talent a plug here on #MusicMonday.

5. “Leave It Alone” – Broken Bells

LOS ANGELES, USA

To say I’m getting very fidgety-style-excited about the release of the new Broken Bells album tomorrow (February 4) would be a MASSIVE understatement.

I love the music these guys produce – a fair indication you’ll no doubt be hearing from them again next week. In the meantime, however, enjoy “Leave It Alone”, the third single released from the forthcoming album.
