#Musicmonday - #087 → Holy Holy Holy Holy

#Musicmonday – #087

ONCE again, spoiled for choice this week as a flurry of great new artists and new album releases surface across the web.

A trio of varied female vocalists to enjoy this week, as well as a great new track from Jungle and kicking off with an introduction to an Aussie act I feel are destined for great things!

1. “House of Cards” – Holy Holy

Holy Holy is an Aussie act that you’re sure to start hearing a LOT about across the remainder of 2014, as singer songwriter Timothy Carroll from Brisbane and guitarist/producer Oscar Dawson from Melbourne begin to hit their straps thanks to cracking tunes like this one.

The lads are whipping around Australian capital cities right now in support of their debut EP “The Pacific” and will be dropping into the Black Bear Lodge here in Brisbane on July 4th.

Pretty sure I’ll be there.

2. “Time” – Jungle

From a possible break through artist of the year for me so far, to a very real contender for a spot in my top 5 albums in 2014, here’s the latest release, “Time”, from UK electrocrooning duo, Jungle.

At this rate, their debut self-titled album, out in a couple of weeks, will spawn another track or two on #MusicMonday before the year is out. Stay tuned…

3. “Love (Keljet Remix)” – Noosa

It seems my thirst for really slick, well-done remixes isn’t going to dissipate anytime soon, so you might as well get used to seeing at least one pop up on this wee compilation each week from now on.

This week, Dutch duo Keljet have had a crack at the track “Love” by New York pop songstress, Noosa.

Keljet’s remix of “Love”, at the time of publishing this post, is a free download, so if you like it, click through to Keljet’s SoundCloud page and grab it for yourself.

4. “Uptight Downtown” – La Roux

I’ve no doubt you’ve heard this great track from the UK’s La Roux at some stage this week already.

Here in Australia, at least, it’s been popping up everywhere on indie and commercial radio stations alike – a sign it’s struck a chord with the general listening public.

5. “Fade” – Mexico City Blondes

Newcomers Allison Thompson and Greg Doscher, aka Mexico City Blondes sure know how to make a splash with their collaborative musical project which has produced the debut single “Fade” – a single that has been played and talked about A LOT across the music blogging community this week… and rightly so.
