#Musicmonday – #088

1. “Cold (ft. Fryars)” – Rae Morris

BLACKPOOL, UK

Described as a “distant conversation between two feuding, fading lovers”, “Cold” is the latest single from Rae Morris.

Co-written, produced by and featuring fellow Brit Fryars on vocals, this track is the latest taste of what’s on offer come September when Morris’ debut album is due to be released.

2. “Uma” – Panama Wedding

NEW YORK, USA

Easily the most talked about release on the music blog circuit this week is this bright and airy pop track “Uma”.

It’s #2 position on Hype Machine is by no means unwarranted as this tune from New Yorkers, Panama Wedding, is sure to get stuck in the heads of more than a few of you.

3. “Seeya (ft. Colleen D’Agostino)” – deadmau5

TORONTO, CANADA

deadmau5, the master Canadian producer with the trademark mouse ears can be a little hit-or-miss with me at times, but this release featuring a little lyrical magic from American cutie, Colleen D’Agostino, hit the right spot with me from the very first listen.

Funky. Yes.

4. “Take Yours, I’ll Take Mine” – Matthew Mole

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

If this wee banjo-soaked toe-tapper out of Cape Town doesn’t bring a smile to your face this week, then you, my friend, clearly need a holiday!

I, for one, am off to add Matthew Mole to my SoundCloud “watch list”.

5. “Losin’ Streak (ft. Daniel Merriweather)” – Cookin’ On 3 Burners

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

I do love me a little funk/soul jam from time to time and Australia has some really talented artists pumping out this style these days.

If you love the sounds of The Bamboos or newcomers Saskwatch, then you’ll dig this track from Melbourne trio, Cookin’ On 3 Burners.
