The smoke has cleared and the crowd of nearly half a million revellers that flocked to the shores of the Brisbane River last night, have dispersed for another year.
The 2012 Brisbane Festival which has been thrilling crowds with an array of events and shows around town over the past 3 weeks came to an explosive close last night as this year's Riverfire fireworks and laser spectacular lit up the banks of the Brisbane River between the Victoria and Story Bridges.
You can view Channel Nine's telecast of the event in full above, and below are a few shots I took in and around the South Bank area including the nightly "City of Lights" presentation, which this year was bigger and better than ever!
Video and indeed photos don't do the "City of Light" display any justice, but this beautifully cut footage, put together by Ryan Cornett, give you some kind of an idea as to the spectacle that crowds enjoyed 2-3 times a night over the course of the Brisbane Festival.
